Podcast car mobility option
I just found this little gem at Wal-Mart. The interesting thing is it’s something that I’d talked about months ago on my podcast. How hard would it be to add a USB Flash drive port on existing automotive CD players? A lot of them already have MP3 codec capabilities in them for MP3 CD’s. Well check this little bugger out… it’s an FM Transmitter/MP3 player that has no built in media but does have a USB slot.
It was around 30 bucks… I haven’t picked it up yet to check out but will do so sometime this week. Stay tuned.
[UPDATE]
I finally went down and picked one of these up and it works well. I’m in the Los Angeles area and have a fairly congested radio marketplace but I was able to pull in on a couple stations. I’ve had an iTrip for my iPod for awhile and this works a whole lot better for me. If you have a USB key fob drive just laying around this thing is worth the 29 bucks.
You can get more information here.

That looks pretty cool, but you didn’t provide any info on what it’s called or the manufacturer. Who makes this thing? Thanks.

Lee,
My brain must have been mush on that post. I thought I’d linked the image back to Walmart but guess not… I’ve updated the post with a link just above the image.
