Sean Bonner is absolutely right. The ONLY value of BlogOn were the people. The conference was a sponsor driven advertisement - with a $10k entrance fee.

WE (the people) need to just find someplace to hang out - BOTH in meatspace and virtual space and show eher the REAL power is.

I suggest either the Phoenix Motel or the Hyatt Embarcadero.

Say - mid-October…..

Open Source conference - NO entrance fee, no nothing. If a sponsor wants to get involved - have them:

- organize the Wifi
- print t-shirts or other SWAG ande give it out
- just be there, be smart and leave the dogma at home
- think collective drumming circle
